Contract Procedures

Students seeking contracts from the College of Technology must schedule an appointment with an undergraduate advisor by calling 713.743.4100. A contract is not just a "piece of paper" that can be picked up at the reception desk. The contract allows students who are on probation and have not declared a major, or students who are readmitted from suspension to take classes the in College. The student will meet with an advisor and will discuss a preliminary degree plan of the student's interest and will discuss the terms of the contract. Please note that the student will not declare the major at this time since the student will not have the grade point average to declare the major.

In order to qualify for a contract, students must be interested in a major in the College of Technology. In addition, students must be able to maintain a 3.00 semester grade point average (GPA) to raise their University of Houston GPA to 2.00. A maximum of two contracts will be administered to each student. During the contract semester, fifty percent of the coursework must be taken in the College of Technology. The Academic Services Center deadline for contracts is during the week before the first day of class of each semester.

When the contract has been signed by the student and the advisor, the student will take the contract to the University Studies Division located in Room 320 in the Student Services Building.
