A one-day HANDS-ON workshop that introduces students to Juniper Networks routers and JUNOS operating system.

Course Description

This workshop is presented by the University of Houston College of Technology Engineering Technology Department and Juniper Networks and sponsored by the Department of Commerce Economic Development Administration (EDA). This EDA-sponsored course is a one-day HANDS-ON workshop that introduces students to Juniper Networks routers and JUNOS operating system. This workshop is a condensed version of Operating Juniper Networks Routers in the Enterprise course that prepares students for the Juniper Networks Internet Associate (JNCIA) Certification exam. The Intro to Juniper Networks Routing workshop provides gives an introduction to JN Enterprise Routers, JUNOS user interfaces, installation andinitial configuration, operational monitoring and maintenance, routing protocols and policy, services, and troubleshooting.

Students who complete this workshop will receive a voucher for 50% off the JNCIA Certification exam (a $75 value).

You will learn

  • Initial router configuration
  • Identication of JN routers and their components
  • Configuring the router for Wide Area Networks (Frame Relay and PPP)
  • JUNOS CLI and JUNOS web interface J-Web
  • How to configure serial and ethernet interfaces
  • Configuring Routing Information Protocol (RIP) routing protocol
  • Configuring Open Shortest Path First (OSPF) routing protocol in single-area and multi-area configurations
  • Network Address Translation (NAT) and DHCP
  • About Multi Point-to-Point (MLPPP) configurations
  • About Virtual Router Redundancy Protocol (VRRP)

Cost
