Accreditation is a certification process whereby organizations evaluate degree programs to determine whether program processes and outcomes (including instructional goals, learning materials and activities, lab equipment) meet specific professional standards and criteria. Once programs are accredited, they must undergo reviews every few years to maintain accreditation. The actual timeframe depends on a particular organization’s policies and procedures.
Several programs in the College of Technology are accredited through various professional organizations including Computer Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering Technology, and Electrical Power Engineering Technology. In addition, several courses in Program Management are certified through the Registered Education Provider Program of the Program Management Institute.
