Getting Started

The process is very simple! Here's all you need to do to become a Cougars for Kids Volunteer:

  1. Complete the UH Volunteer Application and click on Submit.
  2. Print, Complete and Sign the UH Release and Indemnification Agreement and return it to:
    Dr. Jerry Evans
    RM 330 Technology 2 (T2) Building
    Fax: 713-426-6417
  3. Select the hospital of your choice from the Hospital Orentation Schedule, and then contact them to make a reservation to attend one of their volunteer orientation sessions. Please make sure they know you are with Cougars for Kids (write it down on your application). You must comply with requirements for volunteers for the hospital you choose.
  4. Notify me at jsevans2@uh.edu when you have completed these steps and you are ready to start your Cougars for Kids volunteer service.

That's all there is to it! Once you have completed the required steps and are an official Cougars for Kids volunteer, you will receive an attractive Cougars for Kids red baseball cap and a Cougars for Kids red T-Shirt immediately to wear around the UH campus and during your hospital volunteer service.

Thanks for your "volunteer spirit" and being part of this great volunteer service program. Call me at 713-743-9434 or email me at jsevans2@uh.edu if I can help you further.

Dr. Jerry S. Evans
