How We Are Organized |
Overview
In order to effectively carry out its mission of teaching practical applications of
technology and consumer science and merchandising, the College of Technology is
comprised of three departments, each emphasizing a different area of technology
or merchandising.
- Department of Engineering Technology
The ET department focuses on the application of engineering principles and the implementation
of technological advances.
It is responsible for the programs in
Computer Engineering,
Construction Management,
Electical Power,
Mechanical and
Network Technologies.

Department of Human Development and Consumer Sciences
The HDCS department’s two programs focus on the human aspects of technology. The Consumer Sciences & Merchandising program explores consumer behavior emphasizing the retail experience, while the Human Resources Development program looks at human behavior in the context of organizations and the workplace, with specific emphasis on training and development, career development, and organizational development.

Department of Information and Logistics Technology
The ILT department focuses on applying information technology (IT) in various settings.
These include business, logistics, graphics, and technical leadership.
It is responsible for the programs in
Information Systems,
Information Security,
Graphics and
Logistics Technologies as well as
Technology Supervision.
In addition, we are in preliminary stages for preparation for a Life Sciences Technology
department.
