Director's Biography

Petroleum Technology Initiative

Jack Christiansen, Director of the Petroleum Initiative, has 35 years’ experience with Texaco and ChevronTexaco, 20 years of which were spent working in the United Kingdom. He began his career as a geophysicist and then worked as a geologist and in the engineering department. His last two positions were as Reservoir Manager for a gas project offshore Myanmar and an onshore heavy oil project in Venezuela’s heavy oil belt. Jack has experience in most upstream project areas with emphasis on creating value while taking projects from exploration to commercialization. Jack has a BS from St. Lawrence University and MS from Indiana University. He is a member of American Association of Petroleum Geologists, Society of Petroleum Engineers, Independent Petroleum Association of America, and Gulf Coast Process Technology Alliance.
