| Biotechnology |
The biotechnology degree is being added as an option for Fall 2007, pending state approval. This degree is in cooperation with the College of Natural Science and Mathematics and will emphasize practical knowledge and skills needed for the life sciences industries. Students are given a solid foundation in biology, chemistry, information technology and leadership skills. |
| Computer Engineering Technology |
The goal of the Computer Engineering Technology program is to provide students with a high quality applications-oriented undergraduate education based on state-of-the-art technology as a preparation for productive employment in the broad field of microcomputer applications. Students are given a solid foundation in mathematics, basic sciences, and electronics. A thorough study is made of digital circuits and systems, and microcomputer circuits and systems. Hardware, software, and firmware aspects of microcomputers are covered in detail. ABET accredited. |
| Construction Management |
The Construction Management program offers both an undergraduate and graduate degree in the field of Construction Management. The program provides graduates with knowledge and skills necessary to join the construction industry. Such knowledge and skills include construction methods, structural systems, contract administration, specifications, planning, estimating, scheduling, and evaluating project performance. The program is in ACCE Accreditation Candidate Status. |
| Electrical Power Engineering Technology |
The goal of the Electrical Power Engineering Technology program is to provide students with a high quality applications-oriented undergraduate education based on state-of-the-art technological equipment associated with electrical technology. This includes a strong foundation in measurement systems, analog and digital signal conditioning, microprocessor hardware and software, industrial electronics, and rotating machinery. Students have the opportunity to select additional coursework in either control systems, electrical power, or a combination of both. ABET accredited. |
| Mechanical Engineering Technology |
The goal of the Mechanical Engineering Technology major is to provide students with a well-rounded, fundamental and application-oriented education focused on the knowledge of existing and new developments in mechanical technology. This includes courses that are directed at both computer-aided manufacturing and computer-aided design and drafting. Courses focus on manufacturing planning and management, automated manufacturing systems, quality control, and robotics. ABET accredited. |
| Surveying Engineering Technology |
The goal of the Surveying Engineering Technology major is to provide graduates with quantitative knowledge and practical skills that are valued and sought by the land surveying profession. The degree lays the groundwork for registration as a professional surveyor. Professional surveyors utilize the latest technologies such as geographic information systems, photogrammetry, and remote sensing analysis. Professional surveyors are employed for boundary, construction, geodesy, forensic, subdivision, topographic, and hydrographic surveys, and as expert witnesses in boundary disputes. The field covers a wide range of work and a wide variety of environments, from scientific calculations in an office to supervision of field measurements. |
