Consumer Science and Merchandising

Shaping tomorrow's Retail Innovators

Overview

Consumer Science and Merchandising is a dynamic four-year degree that prepares professionals for fast-paced careers in merchandising, management, and the marketing and sales of consumer goods and services in a variety of settings as diverse as the retail and food industries and the growing service sector. Most graduates begin careers as management trainees, and with experience become successful managers with extremely competitive salaries. Students in our degree program generally work while they are attending the university and then pursue opportunities for jobs including merchandising analysis and buying, consumer relations, outside and inside sales, account representatives, department and store managers, consumer relations, training and development, advertising and public relations. One of the special student interests in the degree are the specializations in e-tailing, training and development, and technology entrepreneurship.

eCSM is designed to provide opportunities for students who are busy and active in their lives. eCSM places the Consumer Science and Merchandising courses online, opening the program to students who’s schedule require they study whenever they can and wherever they can. Students who travel in their jobs or who have local positions keeping them busy during normal class hours are able to take online courses and complete this degree.
