Measuring the World Around Us

Overview

The College of Technology offers a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in the field of Surveying Engineering Technology. The objective of the Surveying Engineering Technology program is to provide graduates with quantitative knowledge and practical skills that are valued and sought by the land surveying profession. The degree lays the groundwork for registration as a professional surveyor. Professional surveyors utilize the latest technologies such as geographic information systems, photogrammetry, and remote sensing analysis. Professional surveyors are employed for boundary, construction, geodesy, forensic, subdivision, topographic, and hydrographic surveys, and as expert witnesses in boundary disputes. The field covers a wide range of work and a wide variety of environments, from scientific calculations in an office to supervision of field measurements.
