The UH College of Technology, in Partnership with the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), is Offering the SHRM Learning System™ Course (Preparatory Course for SPHR and PHR Certification), and the SHRM Certification Review.

SHRM Learning System™ Course

SHRM sponsors the Senior Professional Human Rescources (SPHR) and Professional Human Resources (PHR) professional certificates. The SPHR and PHR Certification "preparatory" course is designed for HR professionals who desire to achieve the industry certification that sets them apart as true professionals in the field of HR. The course is intended to provide the knowledge and the in-depth training necessary in a broad range of functional HR areas to prepare participants for the Human Resource Certification Institute (HRCI) certification exam. The SPHR Certification is for HR professionals with 6-8 years of experience, and the PHR Certification is for HR professionals with 2-4 years of experience. SHRM requires that individuals have at least two years of professional experience in HR to use either the SPHR or PHR credential after successfully passing the HRCI exam.

SHRM Certification Review

The SHRM Certification Review is a two-day intensive "refresher" on the SHRM Learning System™ materials. This interactive review is designed for individuals who have participated in the SHRM Learning System™ Course, as well as any other individuals who desire to reinforce their HR knowledge prior to taking the HRCI exam.
